Native of Laos, Olé Khamchanla discovered hip hop dance in 1990 and went on to study hip hop, capoeira, contemporary dance, and butoh. Gradually, he found his own way of dancing that allows him to assert his own style in his practice.
In 2011, he founded his company, KHAM, in France. Olé’s choreographies mixes hip hop, contemporary and traditional dance.
He also experiments with merging dance and other forms of expression such as theater, video, music and painting.
Additionally, Olé frequently collaborates with international artists, especially those from South Asia. His works question what it means to be human.
