Graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with major in Fine Arts and minor in Chinese Music, Daniel is a self-taught dancer and was twice awarded scholarships to study choreography in Holland and London. He was raved by Europe’s Ballet Tanz yearbook “The Choreographer to Look At” and was awarded the “Rising Artist Award” by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
He is also a four-time awardee of the Hong Kong Dance Awards for his choreographies and performance (2000, 2005, 2009, 2012), and twice-won “Top Five Best Dance Works of the Year” from the South China Morning Post. Start from 2012, Daniel began with his new partnership with Hong Kong Arts Centre for his new project “Open Dance” as curator, which also won him the 5th Hong Kong Dance Award for his concept and contribution on community/environmental and educational dance category.
In 2013, Daniel was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Artist Award (Dance) presented by the HKADC for his multiple contributions to the Hong Kong dance field. In 2014, his choreography set for CCDC collaborated with Aerial/Pole Dance, Fire Dance, Parkour and Tricking has won his 6th Hong Kong Dance Award from the Hong Kong Dance Alliance.
