DanielYeungProtraitGrad­u­ated from The Chi­nese Uni­ver­sity of Hong Kong with major in Fine Arts and minor in Chi­nese Music, Daniel is a self-taught dancer and was twice awarded schol­ar­ships to study chore­og­ra­phy in Hol­land and Lon­don. He was raved by Europe’s Bal­let­ Tanz year­book “The Chore­o­g­ra­pher to Look At” and was awarded the “Ris­ing Artist Award” by the Hong Kong Arts Devel­op­ment Coun­cil.

He is also a four-time awardee of the Hong Kong Dance Awards for his chore­o­gra­phies and per­for­mance (2000, 2005, 2009, 2012), and twice-won “Top Five Best Dance Works of the Year” from the South China Morn­ing Post. Start from 2012, Daniel began with his new part­ner­ship with Hong Kong Arts Cen­tre for his new project “Open Dance” as cura­tor, which also won him the 5th Hong Kong Dance Award for his con­cept and con­tri­bu­tion on community/environmental and edu­ca­tional dance cat­e­gory.

In 2013, Daniel was awarded the pres­ti­gious Hong Kong Artist Award (Dance) pre­sented by the HKADC for his mul­ti­ple con­tri­bu­tions to the Hong Kong dance field. In 2014, his chore­og­ra­phy set for CCDC col­lab­o­rated with Aerial/Pole Dance, Fire Dance, Park­our and Trick­ing has won his 6th Hong Kong Dance Award from the Hong Kong Dance Alliance.
