Blue Ka Wing, left-hander, an independent dance artist in Hong Kong. Started her dance training at the age of 16. In 2010, she graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Contemporary Dance and Choreography. She has participated in various dance festivals, performances and exchange activities in Sweden, Bangkok, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taiwan, Beijing, Japan. Blue is passionate about creating.
Her works include “The Neighbor”, “Miss Weather”, “Words are just words”, “Gorilla and Man”, “Diving for Needles”, “Little Bit Bit”, “The Left Hander”,”Time Lag” presented by Hong Kong Arts Festival, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series, programme 3, “Dance Off”, and Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme 2016 “My Daddy, My Flying Car and Me”.
Her solo works “Hollow Stone” and “Season changes (Part II)” were presented in the Beijing Dance Festival in 2012 and 2013 respectively. For two consecutive years she participated in Art Basel.
In 2013, she co-choreographed a dance parade “Paper Rain” with the famous American musician, Arto Lindsay; performed in “SCORE” by a New York choreographer, Ryan McNamara in 2014.
Blue was a part-time contract dancer at Y-Space during 2012-2013 and now a freelance artist working with various dance companies and choreographers.
