Yvette was trained in Chi­nese dance at the Hong Kong Acad­emy for Per­form­ing Arts. Upon grad­u­a­tion, she joined the City Con­tem­po­rary Dance Com­pany. In 1993, she per­formed solo dance work Awak­en­ings in a Dream by Mui Cheuk-yin in the Japan Inter­na­tional Dance Fes­ti­val. In 1996, she par­tic­i­pated in the Re: Ori­ent Dance Fes­ti­val in Lon­don. In 1995, she joined DanceArt Hong Kong, tour­ing with the Com­pany to Tai­wan, Ger­many and the United States. She debuted her work,

Remem­ber­ing at the Asian Con­tem­po­rary Dance Fes­ti­val in New York. She chore­o­graphed and per­formed in The Good Woman of Szech­wan, Hong Kong Arts Fes­ti­val 1998. She has per­formed in most DanceArt’s pro­duc­tion such as Unreach­able Dis­tance, Shat­tered Shack­les, Tea Break, Lament of the Exile, In Search of Hui Sin.

Yvette has also acted as a chore­o­g­ra­pher, her works includ­ing Con­temWAVE Series: A Lit­tle Bit Salty, Com­mu­nity Cul­tural Ambas­sador Dream­ing a Dream with Cha­gall (2009) and Ahead of Avant-garde (2011) respec­tively. She per­formed the main role Fan-yi in Thun­der­storm (2013 Sin­ga­pore Re-run) by Tang Shu-wing The­atre Stu­dio. Her recent work M-cident co-choreographed with Louis Huang received the Hong Kong Dance Award 2014 “Out­stand­ing Inde­pen­dent Dance Production”.
